BACKGROUND: The Anointed Holdings executive team is headed by founder and board chairman Duke Odizor. Mr. Odizor, a native Nigerian, is a unique individual who understands the needs of his fellow countrymen. As a child, Duke lived in a very small, one room house (15 feet by 18 feet) with four siblings and his parents. There was no running water. An open roof shack served for a shower. His background and childhood memories instilled the passion for bringing about a higher quality of community living to all Africans.
Duke was fortunate though, in that he excelled as an athlete and was afforded the opportunity to escape these hardships by moving to Houston, TX USA. Achieving world-renowned professional tennis player recognition, Duke retired in 1993 with over 24 tournament victories. He played 13 years on the pro circuit against the best including Jimmy Conners, John McEnroe, Pete Sampras, Michael Chang and Boris Becker.
He played in the Olympics and reigned as Nigerian tennis champ over 15 years.His educational background includes two years attendance at New Era College in Benin, Nigeria. In the United States, Duke first attended St. Thomas High School where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Odizor then graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Here, he excelled at tennis and was again inducted into the University of Houston's Hall of Fame, alongside that of Hakeem Olajuwon, Clyde Drexler, and Carl Lewis.
